Very useful information. =) I have yet to make an interfaced bag, but I did buy some interfacing so I can try it out soon. I ...What a wonderful and informative post Bethany! I too, am a self taught seamstress. And I use that term lightly, as I do not consider myself a seamstress by any stretch of the imagination! But I have taught myself to sew. I have learned as you have, by trial and error. I have only made a few bags, but would like to venture into bag making in the future, and you will be my best resource!!
By the way, our Walmart used to have a fabulous fabric department, and often sold entire bolts of designer fabrics for one dollar a yard. I purchased a lot of fabric there, and it was good stuff. They have since closed that department, and I am missing it a lot!!!
: ) KrisKrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15578853096888320012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8089227595191821356.post-83401122326684048002012-12-12T09:50:13.380-05:002012-12-12T09:50:13.380-05:00I actually found the Thermolam Plus Fusible on ove...I actually found the Thermolam Plus Fusible on overstock.com for about $50.00 a bolt. That was the cheapest I could find it. Is Joann's cheaper with a coupon?

Also, I hate to sound like a goofball, but what is a presscloth?

Love your blog and your bags!Tracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07083984729407602886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8089227595191821356.post-40162158183132103342012-12-12T07:51:47.424-05:002012-12-12T07:51:47.424-05:00I use Vilene, as that's the major brand here, ...I use Vilene, as that's the major brand here, but I had a hell of a job doing some pattern testing for a US friend until I discovered when I was over there in October that the fusible fleece she uses is about 1/4 the thickness of the Vilene stuff I use (I bought yards of it when I was there in case I need to test for her again!), and that the Peltex is not at all what I thought it was either, so again I was gong heavier duty o.O Katy Cameronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04374079358515448439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8089227595191821356.post-54289124487000744182012-12-12T01:58:20.661-05:002012-12-12T01:58:20.661-05:00Ohkayyy... *need to leave nice comment on interfac...Ohkayyy... *need to leave nice comment on interfacing, need to leave nice comment on interfacing*.... No, sorry, nothing! The bag that stands up by itself looks great though, especially like the handles! :-D Hope you're well and keeping warm - it's currently bitterly cold here... xoCarole Poirot https://www.blogger.com/profile/01827490098818817610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8089227595191821356.post-47402685557025651232012-12-11T22:52:46.043-05:002012-12-11T22:52:46.043-05:00SO jealous of your options! But then, I don't use interfacing on all bags. For some bags, I use fusible interfacing AND fusible fleece. jane phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17982232223532908863noreply@blogger.com
