Me

Well, hello! Thanks for stopping by.  My name is Bethany, and I am an eclectic doer of things.  When I'm not at my day job working for a global manufacturing company, I'm doing my thing, whatever that may be at the moment.  Here is some of what "my thing" consists of, in no particular order:

• Sewing (ok, this one is in order)
• Reading
• Yarn crafting (e.g. knitting, crocheting)
• Shopping
• Gardening (unless it's really hot and humid. Then ick).
• Perusing the internet for fun stuff to read
• Lurking on Facebook
• Crossword puzzles

Up until a few years ago most of my time was spent on literary pursuits.  Then I received a learn-to-knit kit for Christmas, learned I needed help, and so asked Grandma. After testing her patience for a few evenings on Christmas vacation, I knitted my first dishcloth.  Then she taught me to crochet.  Then to cross-stitch.  After a few years, I received an inexpensive sewing maching for Christmas to make linings for knitted handbags.  After letting it sit for a year I decided I wanted to use it, opened the box, and promptly went searching for a place that gave sewing lessons.  And that's all she wrote. I haven't stopped since, and it's a rare day that I'm not doing something related to creating things.  I treasure uniqueness, and sewing is an awesome way to provide the world with more of it.  My latest passion is hand-crafted bags.I have an Artfire studio if you're interested in seeing what I've been working on.
