These giveaways will close on Sunday, June 12, so head over to these blogs and get your entries in for these fantastic prizes.
And now there's me :) Summertime brings with it it's share of outdoor activities and road trips. If you've got kids (or have ever traveled with me, bwahahaha) you know a favorite question is "Are we there yet?" (or "Wanna stop and eat?"). I've whipped up two little goodie bags, one for a she and one for a he, that will hopefully keep that question at bay for while. These sweet little drawstring bags are perfectly kid-sized and come pre-filled with a few kid-friendly activities, with plenty of room to add more (and a few snacks too). They're a great size to fill with little treasures, or to keep full of to-dos for doctor's office visits, trips to Grandma's, whatever. One lucky winner will receive both goodie bags!
To enter all you have to do is leave a comment on this post, telling me your favorite thing to do to make long car drives (plane rides, train trips, etc.) not so dull. Also - pretty please with a cherry on top leave me an email or make sure one is linked through your profile. I'll take entries through Sunday June 12th 11:59 p.m. EDT. I'll draw a winner within the next day or two thereafter. Open to anyone, anywhere! Good luck, and thanks for stopping by!
Be sure to check back for tomorrow’s giveaways! Now if you'll excuse me...I have to go try and win some candy :)
Today's giveaways are courtesy of:

These tags are one of a kind and easy to spot. No more waiting and hoping that bag really is yours. The tote is perfect for day trips and the distressed look lends a hand to a relaxed summer outing.

Our family likes to play the alphabet game in the car, who ever gets through the alphabet by calling out the letters in order, from road signs, lisence plates, or semis have truck writing on them, you got to go from A-Z who ever does first wins:) It is fun, and makes time go by fast:) Thanks for the chance to win:) rdnetting@msn.com
ReplyDeleteI love your blog btw and follow with gfc. I bring ear plugs and take a sleep aid, only kidding. We bring books, we have a small tv for kids movies, and take with us lots of snacks. We have actually driven from Southern Cali to Michigan with a two year old at the time. I don't care to do it again.
ReplyDeleteVery awesome giveaway! I love to play travelling Bingo (a card game we hav ehad for years, that has many different things and you have to spot them all to win) or stories, singing and just plain out being silly!
ReplyDeletewould love to win this :D
email on profile ;)
i loved to color on long trips when I was a kid and my kids love to play the game where you make up a story each person adding a sentence. It get's pretty silly after awhile. Love those bags they are adorable!

i like to leave at stupidly early times so they sleep! then we put the tiger song on (eye of the tiger) and they sing along. Its amazing how many times they can listen to that. This is followed by some head banging and incar dancing to whatever is on the radio, followed by biscuits a fight, my hubby shouting at them and prehaps another nap. we sooooo need an in car DVD!
ReplyDeleteI have a cookie sheet that I make little magnets for my son to play with on it! It works great and he has lots of fun!! I also enjoy singing songs and just talking to each other!! Care trips can be lots of fun!!

What a cute idea! When we were little, my sister and I would play car bingo and my mom would make up bingo cards for things we should look for along the way. I always won because she ususally fell asleep! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm now following your blog. We play the license plate game. See how many different states, symbols, colors we can find.
ReplyDeleteWe usually play game, watch movies on the computer or Ipad to keep us sane :)
ReplyDeleteWe don't really go on to many long trips but my daughter loves to look at books.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the process of constructing busy pages (kinda like a quiet book, but not all quiet) for my little man so I can indulge in my stack of magazines that have been piling up, for lack of time to read them on the road trips we have planned this summer. Movies and books are winners too.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!
ReplyDeleteI am a DVD player kinda girl, but I also bring coloring books and crayone rolls:)

I love this giveaway! As kids we used to always play the alphabet game (looking for the letters on signs). We haven't had to take any big trips with our daughter yet but I should probably start a stash of ideas for when we do!

I love these bags. we have a trip planned soon and these would be great. I have two boys that love to read books on trips. They are very young but love books like charlottes web. We read those types of books while we are traveling. my email it tarwaterfamily4@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteFound you via Sew Many Dreams. I love both these bags, David Walker's Robots is one of my all time favourite fabrics. Long road trips, I am afraid we can't do without the gold fish crackers, our portable DVD player, and the musical OLIVER!
ReplyDeleteI usually pull out articles from my pile of parenting magazines that I have gotten behind in reading while my husbands enjoys his iphone music via headphones and my toddler watches a movie in the car (only for 4 hr. or more trips so a big deal). Thanks for the chance to add to our car "bag" of tricks.
ReplyDeleteWe never go on a long trip without our portable DVD player. We also bring a huge bag of books. Between the two, we usually make it! Thanks for the giveaway!

We get the grandchildren playing I Spy and The Quiet game.
ReplyDeleteI have a great idea to give one to my daughter for a nursing bag so when she is feeding the new baby she can open the bag for the toddler to sit next to her and play with the item in the bag. THANKS
This is such a great idea!! We haven't taken a road trip yet that's been more than a few hours. I usually let the kiddos pick a few toys to take with them in the car. For the most part though car rides are rather boring other than the Glee tunes we are rocking to. This would for sure make it funner for everyone!!
ReplyDeleteWhen going on really long car trips we like to bring a small treat, toy, game, ect for every hour of the trip. We wrap each one up and then the kids get to open on each hour. They look forward to the next hour and the thing that is unwrapped gets used during the duration for the trip.

This will be our first trip with our eleven month old so I'm not sure what we will do. I think if he is fed enough, he will be fine.

We like to play "We are going on a drive and we are taking....A" And you go through the alphabet!!
ReplyDeletekellertson3@gmail.com
We love to play car bingo.
ReplyDeletethelytles@hotmail.com
We always make sure to take a really long break. We eat a meal at a park and let the kids run around and play for awhile and get tired out. It makes the rest of the trip so much more bearable.
ReplyDeleteanne.vanhoose@gmail.com
Our favourite thing to do is sing songs like "5 Little Speckeld Frogs" as well as sing along to the radio.

how adorable. listening to mix c.d.'s or bringing some kind of t.v. or dvd player to watch films is always nice.

The best thing we've found when travelling long distance with the girls is to go at night! That way they sleep most of the way. Only works if you're going to family and they can entertain the kids the next day while you catch up on the missed sleep while driving, though! (We take turns driving so there's no falling asleep at the wheel.)
ReplyDeleteSorry, my profile didn't link properly to my last comment!

We play lots of I-Spy. My kids are 3 and 7 so it suits both ages. :)
ReplyDeleteWe have a long trip coming up to Florida! This would be great. I know it's not very creative, but a DVD player works best! liz.taylor24@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI made some Dry-Erase books that we use with tic tac toe and other games/ activites in it.
ReplyDeleteWe like to read books and also to see the different types of vehichle's on the road.
ReplyDeleteI can't even tell you how much I LOVE both of these fabrics (especially the robots!). My boys and I love to play I-Spy to pass the time :)
ReplyDeleteSing songs - listen to CDs when I can't sing anymore (hahaha) - count cows. Have snacks with me and small toys. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI had 5 sons in 9 years and usually when we traveled it was an 8+ hour trip so we left our driveway about 11 pm. My grandson though is a GREAT little traveler and when we make our 12 hour trips from NW Arkansas to South Texas we play a lot of I Spy, hangman, tic-tac-toe, and our most favorite "game" is William writes a sentence in a notebook and passes it to me, so I write a sentence, etc., until we have a whole story. William will be 8 on our trip this year.
ReplyDeleteLove the bags!
my email is lauraking1123@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI havent been on a road trip in a long time but to make things fun when I was growing up is my sister would write down a bunch of random words and my little sister and I would have to sing them lol.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of fun!
mum.n.wife.to.jdt@gmail.com
What a FUN giveaway! We like to play the I Spy game on long trips! These bags look super fun! I am a new follower!
ReplyDeleteWe like to play our alphabet memory game where each one takes a turn naming something (it can be anything) and the next person repeats what previous person chose and adds his word from next letter in alphabet. Example: #1 chose alligator for A, then #2 says alligator, banana ( for "b" word), #3 says alligator, banana, California (for his "c" word) and on and on. We continue after "z" and add a second set of A - Z. That's when it get tougher to remember all the words. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe play the license plate game or the alphabet game (Finding a word that starts with A, then B, etc on road signs). We also burn our own CDs with music the kids enjoy. Thanks for the chance to win!
