Hellooooo!!!! I feel like it's been forever since I've posted. To be honest, not much has been going on. The weather has finally gotten to me (the snow I begged for a few months ago is now overkill, and I'm longing for some sunshine and green anything). I've been feeling quite blue and moody, oftentimes like I'm forcing myself through the day. That's not usually how I roll, and I can't wait for that feeling to go away. Bring on the tulips and daffodils!
I haven't been doing nothing, though. I've been plugging away at my secret afghan, and frogging more than I ever have in my life. The old Bee would have built a bonfire and tossed it in (not too far from being a literal statement, there) but THIS Bee quietly pulled apart about a third of the work (setting me back to only half finished) and rewound the yarn to keep at it after a few days rest from it.
As far as sewing goes--there hasn't been much. I do have a project in the works, but one that needed to be figured out with math and all that jazz, so it took me a while. I sewed a few rough drafts and finally got it to where I'm satisfied. It's a boxy pouch (like we learned to make here) but tweaked just enough to make it quite different, and way more functional, really. Can't wait to show you this one. PLUS I'm hoping to write up a tutorial on how to make those boxy pouches any size you want, something that has always stymied me and that I approached in the past with a trial and error technique that often left me beyond frustrated. It's amazing what you can figure out if you aren't afraid to destruct what you have constructed. Seems counter-intuitive, but it's really beneficial sometimes.
Sooo....that's really been it. Shoddy, I know. I'm hoping things are a little more interesting where you are. Here's a random funny that you may have seen--it completely cracks me up. Keep saying it to yourself. It gets funnier.
You poor little cold thing you! Come out here to Phoenix, you'll be toasty warm soon enough. My name is Holly with a "y". I guess that makes me Yolly.
ReplyDeleteHeh, as a Katy with a 'Y' I totally understand
ReplyDeletehaha, love the funny! Hey they're calling for more "weather" here in VA tonight :( I'm done, I'm leaving, I'm going to the beach ... in Florida! Not really, but one can dream.
