You know what it is this week over at Sew Mama Sew? Giveaway week. You know what I'm not participating in this week? Giveaway week. Jane wrote a great synopsis here of how this week usually goes. I was planning on hosting a giveaway anyway, and was waffling on if I was going to join in the craziness, but that post helped me decide against linking up over there. I don't want to offer freebies to a bunch of random strangers who will most likely never be back, thereby decreasing the likelihood of my regular readers winning. You folks are the ones who stop by now and then and comment and email and so forth, so I'd like to offer the winning chance to you.
Now, I don't know about you folks, but if I make a big project that takes a while with a certain set of fabrics I get my fill and don't want them anymore. I just get tired of looking at them, or to be more accurate, I suppose, I get it out of my system. I have some nice bunches of fabric left over from two big projects this year that I'm going to offer up today to one lucky winner.
So that there is the whole lot. If you come by often you should certainly recognize them. First up I have a bundle from my hexie table runner project--
There is a mid-size stack of three inch squares up there, as well as a few strips of fabric. There are also eight squares that are a wee bit more than a fat quarter, and then the green dots and pink flowers on top (but they have only a wee bit to them as I used them in this tutorial). This is a nice-sized bundle of fabric.
And here is what is left from my Sherbet Pips adventure. There is a big stack of mini charm squares that I cut (I suppose you could say I got exuberant about what I was going to need for the border), some solid pink, and what is left of my bias tape (which is a decent amount).
You can get a bit of mileage out of these bundles, especially if you throw in other fabrics. So won't you please help a girl out, and try to take these out of my scrap box so I can feel like I'm making progress in using up my stash?
OK, so to enter just leave me a comment. It can be about anything--your favorite color, a holiday beverage you like to indulge in, anything. But please make sure that your account is linked to an email or that you leave one in your comment so I can contact the winner (you can leave it in this format: mynameATemailDOTcom if you wish (so the spambots can't get a hold of your address). I'm going to leave this bad boy open until 11:59 pm EST on Monday, December 16. I'll pick a winner soon thereafter. I guess you might also be interested in knowing that is open to anyone, anywhere.
So have it, dearies! Good luck!
My only worry if I was hosting a giveaway for just my regular readers would be that nobody would enter.... but since I haven't hosted any yet I guess it's not a problem. =)
ReplyDeleteAlso, this pie is incredible: http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2007/11/nutmeg-maple-cream-pie/
I LOVE the bias tape!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
Love the bias tape too, and the others....
ReplyDeleteI follow you on Bloglovin.
In a bit of a rut, hope too pull some creativity out soon though
Fabric! Drool!
ReplyDeleteWait, is this open to international readers? But er.... I do have an NYC address, so... I guess I'll enter. Hee :D
I am loving the holiday makeover of your blog. I wish I can do this on mine, too, but golly I'm too lazy :D
Ooooo! That's a lot a cute fabric! Thanks for the chance to win! I'll keep my fingers crossed, lol
ReplyDeletePick me...pick me!!! I love it. Oh I hope I win!!! Let's see....how about I tell you that I am sitting her with my grandson and we are both having a hot cocoa in Santa mugs.

Wow! That is a much better idea than getting inundated with strangers. I'm here in front of fire with my kitty and puppy snuggled up next to me :) feeling festive!
ReplyDeleteHow can I resist? I love other people's scraps! My favourite colour is yellow/green and I love to drink tea with sugar every single day and double the amount during the festive seasons. I probably touched on a nerve with that post huh?
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean. I love scrappy projects and hoard every bit of fabric. By the time i have used a group of prints in 3 or 4 things it becomes stale, so I put it aside and date the box then leave it for at least 6 months. If it is still doesn't appeal then I try to swap it. The only color that i struggle to use is Brown, I made a Tree quilt and had to go out to buy fabric for the trunks.
ReplyDeleteHope your bits n bobs become mine. Beautiful fabric pieces.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently hoarding lots of scraps so that I can start my journey into patchwork. I have been gaining inspiration from several fantastic blogs (including yours of course) and reading all the tutorials. I am almost ready to start patchwork over the festive season. Needless to say, your scraps would be a fantastic addition to my pile, in fact they would probably double the amount I have. Thank you very much for the giveaway. Tgk1ATblueyonderDOTcoDOTuk
ReplyDeleteWow, they are beautiful fabrics. I'm still a novice patchworker/quilter but my favourite thing about it is using up scraps that remind me of other projects, or a dress I made for my niece. Using up someone else's scraps and being linked in that way to their projects is a brillant idea :) I'm in the UK though so I perfectly understand if you don't pop my name in the hat.
ReplyDeleteChristmas for me always includes these things - John Denver & The Muppets Christmas CD, all the decorations my kids have made over the years (they're now 24 & 25!), a glass of ginger wine (because my Grandad always drank it at Christmas), a box of dates and a classic Christmas movie. And my kids would be devastated if they didn't get the same Matey bubblebath in their stocking tht they've had since they were tiny :)

What a lovely idea, and a great way to clear some of your stash, I've loved reading other peoples comments, I too am too scared to do a give-away in case no one enters! I think John Denver and the Muppets sounds like a fantastic combination, and as I'm in the UK too I know what Matey bubblebath is - my kids would be devastated if there was no terry's chocolate orange at the bottom of their stockings. To echo what others have already said, you say this is open to everywhere but if the Uk is a stretch too far no worries! Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean, after finishing any kind of project, I'm generally sick of the sight of whatever materials I have used. These fabrics look great and it's a lovely giveaway. However, it'd be totally wasted on me as I haven't sewn anything in ages and have just decluttered a huge stack myself. So, I'm just here to comment, not to enter ;-)
ReplyDeleteI posted my give away on sew mama sew and already regretting it... I mean, over 500 reactions is great, but I know for sure that 350 of them I will never see on my blog again. Too bad :'( Oh well, I'll live and learn I guess.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to enter your Give Away!
I've decided too clean out my fabric drawers (of course, plural) and make a few quilts for charity with the fabrics I'm not into anymore. With so many people on the run and living in refugeecamps at the moment I guess there are people out there pleased to bits with a happy looking quilt and who (unlike a certain spoilt Dutch person) don't have the luxury of going 'meh' over fabrics. Also, it gives me something fun to do over the holidays.
Anyhooooooos (was I rambling? No!) lovely Give Away!!! Woop!
Esther.
Beautiful fabrics! I've done the Giveaway Day once and got 5 new followers from about 300 comments, which isn't a great ratio really. I love to indulge in mulled wine over Christmas!
ReplyDeletebeautiful scraps! I know where you're coming from with the giveaway madness. I hosted a giveaway a few years ago, I did get a few new followers (following was not a condition of entering as who wants followers that only follow for a chance of winning?) but not many and the lady that won never even thanked me!
ReplyDeleteBoth bundles are divine! Oh, and I'm a new follower!
ReplyDeleteWear time visiting your blog.
ReplyDeleteWe currently use a translator and language is the reason why I do not leave comments.
Thanks for the chance to play.
The fabrics are very pretty, costs a lot to get them over here.
Greetings!
Nice little scrappies! I really like that peppermint twist binding :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the chance to win the giveaway!!
I'm always looking for ways to use up scraps, but never seem to have the dedication to use them all. Heck, I still have scraps from three years ago when I started sewing. I do use them when I get antsy to make something and no money to buy other fabric, however. One of these days I'll make a scrappy 2" square quilt...some day.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric pictured is so cute! I can think of several projects I would use these for. Here's hoping you have a wonderful holiday season.
ReplyDeleteI'm in a panic to finish last minute gifts for Christmas, but it doesn't stop me from thinking about new projects after the holidays. Gosh, how generous of you to offer this awesome giveaway. Your fabrics are so cute and colorful, and I can picture these in scrappy quilts for my granddaughters!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bethany!
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that someone else's scraps are far more exciting than my own??
How I can I resist such beautiful fabrics?I love the scraps quilts, they are a fabulous rainbow and also love reading and cooking. Hope you have a fabulous Holiday season.Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteI love getting your emails and seeing what cute projects your working on, you're an inspiration! These fabrics are adorable and I would love to turn them into something wonderful! Have a very Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteI love sherbet pips! I still haven't gotten it out of my system, so I would be glad to take it off your hands. Hope you are staying warm up there in PA!

This year due to finances, we don't have much money so all of my gifts are handmade. I have made casserole carriers, infinity scarves, pajama pants, a quilt, a super hero cape, cowboy outfit and now I am making a princess dress and some cute little shoes.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful colors! they would make some really fun pincushions. Thanks for the give-away. Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful rainbow assortment of fabrics! I can visualize so many scrappy items made out of them.
ReplyDeleteI love using my imagination to create something beautiful out of my scraps. This would be a lovely gift to have for Christmas.
Thanks so much for the chance.

I'm working on a 30's yoyo project and your hexie leftovers would be purrfect for it!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya on the giveaway madness. I'm not joining in this year either. I end up feeling used, like my handmade kindness is being taken advantage of, and I don't like that feeling. :-( Your idea to open up to only loyal readers is great!
Great give away. Beautiful assortment. Thanks for the chance
ReplyDeleteThis would make a great addition to my scrap stash. I'm planning a monochromatic scrap quilt for next year. Am I insane for planning such a project? It depends on who ask and if it is before or after my coffee!
ReplyDeletePretty remnants! I have been diligent about scrapbusting but I have nothing in these color ways. Happy holidays and thanks!
ReplyDeleteLindos tecidos. Boas férias e boas festas.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I love other peoples scraps...and such lovely colors. Thank you for a lovely giveaway. I especially like that binding..bpfrimmer@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI love your remnants! I'm doing Lori Holt's scrappy quilt, and since I'm newer to quilting I don't have a lot of scraps. I agree with Jane, inviting a bunch of strangers into your home that want something from you is just ridiculous. Not that that's what she said, just how I feel.
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to play with other peoples scraps, something new. You even have my favorite color combination so maybe I'll be lucky! Thanks for a wonderful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteBeen following your blog and love it; however, I haven't made anything that is worth displaying. All of my friends accept my gifts, but I haven't seen them being used. lol. I do love fabric and I love sewing and crafting with it. You really have some gorgeous prints and colors

These giveaway with such bright colors would be just right to kickstart some wintertime sewing. I've been making little quilts for a womens shelter for the kids that come with nothing.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of the fabrics. Christmas is just around the corner and everyday I am busy making Christmas ornaments for sale at craft markets. I live in a tropical country so the whole year round is
ReplyDeletehot weather....just like summer. Thank you for your giveaway ...

Your remnants are wonderful. Lately I have really gotten into scrap quilting and these would be a lovely addition to my collection. I follow your blog and enjoy your inspiration. Thanks for the chance to win your give-away.
ReplyDeleteOh a lovely bunch of fabric. I'd love a shot at it. Did you know I thought about you and your love for everything with russian dolls. I saw the cutest little scissors with handles like a russian doll. 😊
ReplyDeleteOhhh, so many pretties! :) Thank you for a generous giveaway and Merry Christmas
